ABOUT THE FEST

The Summer Sunset Festival is an annual event that offers the community an opportunity to enjoy a wealth of activities, food, and entertainment as the summer season comes to a close.  This three-day event will be held at Sunset Park, 5200 Miller Road, from Friday through Sunday over Labor Day weekend. Admission is FREE, the only costs are the food/beverages and the carnival.

As always, the main stage provides a focal point of entertainment, with a full line-up of musicians, but that is just the beginning. In addition to food/beverage vendors and the carnival, special events are scheduled through the weekend.

INCLEMENT WEATHER / THORGUARD

The Summer Sunset Festival is held within Sunset Park, which is equipped with Thor Guard, a device that monitors atmospheric conditions to predict lightning before it strikes. If, during the festival, the Thor Guard goes off, the festival grounds will be cleared until the ‘all-clear’ signal goes off. Here is how the Thor Guard works:

  • Warning: A single 15-second horn blast and flashing strobe light. When these signals are heard, the festival grounds will close and everyone should seek immediate shelter.
  • All-Clear: Three short horn blasts will indicate when it is safe to resume activities.

FESTIVAL SITE MAP

The Summer Sunset Festival has relocated to be more centrally located within Sunset Park for 2025. A site map depicting the festival grounds, carnival area, Sunset Market, parking, and more is detailed below. As identified, the parking this year will have one dedicated entrance, off Miller Road, and one dedicated exit located at the northeast area of the designated parking area. The relocation of the festival grounds allows for an increase in parking in the northern part of Sunset Park. Additionally, an expanded handicap parking area is designated, as identified on the festival map.
