Before we head into Summer Sunset Fest and celebrate the long-awaited return of our classic end-of-summer bash, let’s pause for a few important health and safety reminders.
The State of Illinois remains in Phase 5 of the Restore Illinois plan, which allows outdoor festivals to take place in full. To follow the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) guidelines, we encourage that attendees practice social distancing and wear masks or face coverings when unable to maintain a distance of six feet or more from other festivalgoers who are not members of their household regardless of vaccination status. Signs will be installed throughout the festival grounds to remind attendees to watch their distance and wear their masks when in crowded spaces.
Additionally, if you or a member of your household is feeling unwell or exhibiting any of the COVID-19 symptoms below, please DO NOT ATTEND the festival. Instead, stay home and contact your health care provider. Likewise, if you have been in close contact with someone who has tested positive for COVID-19, please stay home and refrain from attending the festival for the safety of our community.
DO NOT ATTEND SUMMER SUNSET FEST IF YOU HAVE:
- Fever
- Cough
- Shortness of breath
- Sore throat
- Headache
- Or any other symptoms listed at cdc.gov/coronavirus
Hand sanitization stations will be readily available throughout the festival grounds. All items at the Sunset Fun Zone will be either single-use or sanitized between uses.
The health and safety of our community is our number one priority, and we continue to carefully monitor the COVID-19 pandemic and mitigation requirements issued by the McHenry County Health Department (MCDH), Illinois Department of Public Health (IDPH), and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). Please reach out to ssf@lith.org with any questions.
Thank you for doing your part to protect the health, safety, and wellbeing of our awesome community!
